This afternoon had two helicopters flying above our road wtf?
Just found out that a women had been stabbed several times in her house by a 25 year old male,
who was walking about this area with blood covered hands.
Police have found and arrested this tit.
The house is within spitting distance from ours.
Women is on the critical list at local hospital.
Too near feckin home for my liking.

It seems there is more & more of this happening recently, not long ago a young girl was killed in a park a few hundred yards from our house :(

Not sure of nationality, but we know they are not English.

Does not matter to me mate any stabbing is a terrible thing

Yarp...agree. Makes you wonder if it's gonna be related to mental health yet again.
Then again, you would have to be a bit
unbalanced to stab someone.

Turns out it was drug related.
See, mental health.

Possession of a knife should carry a long sentence. If there's no intention to use it, why carry a knife? Wankers.

Too many people using 'mental health' as a crutch of late. Every time someone does something out of the ordinary (read: fuckin' stupid) then it must be related to their mental health.

I liked that as even though I disagree to a degree I do see what you are getting at (y)

I have carried a penknife ( & larger ones when required) since the age of 8 & have been in a position to defend myself or even give someone a good clump more times than I care to remember but the thought of stabbing someone never ever crossed my mind & never will ;)

So there is a distinction to be made between someone like myself who regularly carries a "tool" & uses it every day & someone who goes out with a "weapon" with intent to harm ............. my Gerber multitool that lives on my belt all the time is not technically legal even though it is within the permitted size as I understand it because the blade locks out (better than it folding on my fingers) ......... FYI I have a few knives etc all of which are perfectly legal to buy, own or even sell if the mood takes me

While I am at it ..... I a saw a cop type programe a few weeks ago where a bloke had his air rifle confiscated & destroyed, mainly because he was as thick as two short planks & couldn't come up with a reasonable excuse to having it as any responsible air gunner would have! ..... the point being the copper didn't have a clue & kept referring to it as a FIREARM which it plainly wasn't & would never be until tested OVER the legal limit (12 ft lb) ............ it turned out to be a bloody electric bb gun ffs, 6ft lb if you are lucky but probably nowhere near even that with no way of upping the power even if you were daft enough to want to, still destroyed

Boils my piss to be honest I was shouting at the telly again until the mrs turned it off  FFS I agree we should have laws in place to control the idiots but at least make the numpties that are supposed to uphold those laws conversant with them

We keep a Stanley knife in the door pocket of the car, this is used for cutting baling bands & removing plastic from haylage, we don’t keep it at the field as it would either get stolen or used for slashing the horses.

Always carried a proper Swiss army knife.
As a spark, the number of times I'd be in someone's house and you'd see a badly made off plug and the only tools they'd have
would be the Woolies 50p shite! So at least then you'd have a sharp blade.
But I stopped carrying anything like that just in case I was ever stopped and had to start explaining why!

I asked the question of someone quite high up, before they retired, about carrying a knife and being stopped by Dibble- the answer was along the lines of...... if you are a reasonable person, in a reasonable place, with a reasonable reason to be carrying a knife you should probably be OK.

Your thesis ignores the fact that imitations and air rifles and even BB guns can and do look extremely 'real', particularly to those like me who have no interest in the subject. And particularly if you are being threatened with one.

Carrying knives or any sort of firearm in public should be mandatory jail time as far as I am concerned. As should being involved in supply or manufacture of drugs.

Nice simple rules that even the scrotes should be able to understand.

Unrealistic Andrew. Farmers regularly carry shotguns to control vermin.

A number of very fair points, as usual (y)

To be clear, I should have said those carrying knives meaning ‘dagger’ types, carving knives, etc., the sort of shit that is unlikely to be carried on a day to day basis by any normal person.

Bev usually has a spray can of perfume (impulse) in her car, I’ve told her to carry a cig lighter as well, handy flame thrower.

For what it's worth an air rifle is legally a firearm.
If under 12 ft lbs it is a firearm which is excepted from the requirement for a firearms licence.
Any offences involving an air rifle (regardless of ft lbs) are firearms offences, they are not regarded "less serious".

As an aside, we were recently in the Alps and saw several people carrying around rifles (not shotguns) out in the open close to habitation. I’m confident they were hunting deer as they were wearing orange jackets - apparently deer can’t see orange and it’s like a camo to them.
