How is the speed reading affected by a change of 1 tooth (added) to rear sprocket on the bird? Someone bound to know before I start doing maths...

dunno anything about maths mate, but I reckon you wouldn't much notice the up "1 tooth" mod. I did this mod on the Fazer and the R1 and had to go up 2 teeth in order to notice the difference. Oh and ya want a Renthal sprocket, others just don't last as well in my personal experience. :yo:
Didn't think I'd notice the minor loss of top end 'till I had the R1 pinned at Snetterton at an indicated 165 and was being overtaken by Gixer thous :B

What Joe said, believe one tooth is only around 2-3% difference. U.S. bikes have the 45 tooth as standard, you can bet Honda don't bother to give their speedos a seperate calibration and just rely on the standard 5-10% overreading we get anyway.

Thanks guys - Joe I already did the change when I got the new chain last year when the bike was at Steve, got the Renthal on more tooth... and then following something I read I was wondering how it affected the speedo reading
