speeding

mate of mine got cought speeding 43 in a 30 limit (i know it's not that fast), anyway the paperwork came today some 12 day after , seam to remember a time limit with in which the paperwork had to be recieved ? any one know the facts ? thanks

It's 14 days, I think.

Looks like he's unlucky.

i believe ( but wait to be corrected ) that if it was a camera van / camera then they have 14 days to send out a NIP, notice of intended prosecution

so it was in time :bang:

They have to SEND the NIP out within 14 days, it doesn't necessarily have to arrive on your doorstep within 14 days!

Look, this won't save your licences altogether, but for the majority of times, if riders / drivers stick to the speed limit in 30, 40 or 50 zones, there'd be a heck of a lot less points & fines handed out. I do know, like the rest of you, that the scamera partnership also hassles people on national speed limit roads as well, but far less than in restricted zones.

By the way, 43 in a 30? At 30mph a vehicle is travelling at 45 feet every second. At 43mph a vehicle is travelling around 62 feet every second. It's sometimes difficult to understand what 30mph really means until you think of it this way.
