What a spanking weekend. Stayed in a small campsite just outside Spa called Parc des Sources just 8km from the circuit. Weather was not too good but that's the area for you. 23Euros for the whole weekend, secure bike parking included in that. If the security peeps haven't spotted you leaving and told the gate peeps they do stop you and make sure the key in the ignition actually stops and starts the bike. It's not crowded and walking round the circuit tour route is a must. Get into the paddock and talk to the teams and riders. Get on the pit lane wall inches from them howling past you. A definite one for the calender.
First pic is a guy getting his bike taped up after an off on the opening lap. The Beemer was in the 500km endurance race and the last one is Sharon with the 1st and 2nd place teams in the sidecars. Bril. :yo:

Fantastic. Sounds just up my street.

We were there in '98. Unfortunately not for bike racing. Do they have dry races at Spa? :)

From reading about the circuit and looking at pictures it is one of my favourite places. I hate cars but I have even watched the Dutch sports car racing series
when they were at Spa on eurosport.
I believe that Barry Sheene still holds the record for the fastest racing speed ever and that was at Spa before they altered it!
Did you see Performance Bike's articles about their classic racing at Spa? Very good reading .

Good post.
Thanks CAD
