bevs test coming up soon in sept, pretty sure shes gonna pass shes very confident, problem is she had a go on bird and found it to heavy for her to handle. dont rearly want to get shut of bird because they are a superb bike but we need a bike both of us can ride rather than two bikes in the household.something with power and also something similar. any ideas please. cant get shut of wife before anyone says anything.

Same problem here, can't even stand the Bird up from the side stand. Trouble is, we solved it by getting an old CBR600 for me, so that made it 2 bikes, then a 125 for me to learn on first, so we're up to three at the moment. :bang:

hi artemis its bev, can ride her, get her off side stand and just about put her on main stand with alittle help. its hard when the roads on a bit of a slope parking her up, worried about dropping her all the time so i dont feel fully confident with the bike so i know its not for me. having two bikes is a bit hard on the old pocket when you have an expensive daughter. our rob dont want to sell her i know but cant see any other way round it.

Looks like Hobson's choice Bev. :bang: Do you keep your beautiful Bird and risk dropping her (But I bet you wouldn't, you'd care too much to allow that to happen) or do you get something slightly smaller. :dunno:

If you do go the smaller route, the CBR600 is easy to handle and will carry two. However, we have found that Givi fit kits are not easy to come by for them. It seems only the latest models can have any  Givi luggage fitted. Not a problem if you don't want luggage, though

option 3, body building course, :dunno:
joking aside, the "ol barge" is a bit heavy, and most of us have at some stage come close to "dropping" the bugger, in my opinion  a lot of the manoeuvring about and stuff is down to confidence, as you get to know the bike it becomes like second nature to allow the weight to do the work for you, :dunno: stick with it a bit and you will I'm sure start to see what I mean, good luck on your test Mrs R,

Fair enough, all i can tell you is he has only done 300 miles on it since owning it (8 months) and its just had a 12month MOT. The bike came from HUNTS HONDA. Paul who owns the bike has got a severly disabled baby and has been through traumas recently hence not putting any mileage on it... Now he's ready to venture out again and wants a BB... Keep us posted with how much you want for thr BB and i'll inform him, he may be interested in an outright purchase.. Any pics??

Possible alternatives?
Hornet 900
Fireblade
ZX9R
VFR800
SV1000
Bandit 1200 (still heavy though)
GSXR-750
Sprint ST
Fazer 1000
Thunderace (nearly 30 Kgs lighter)

Any help? :dunno:

Bev........ I don`t know if its ant use to you but I`ve just paid 3500 for an `98 R plate, 8000 miles, alarmed and datatagged.

Its in mint condition as well and came with all the receipts from services etc, chap I bought it off was the second owner and he`d had it since it was 4 months old. Have a look through MCN and Auotrader and see what they`re going for in there, might give you an idea of what you can expect to get.

Hope that helps.

Enlighten me on the Bulldog clips, Bev............

Funny enough, though, I got my 600 on ebay. Turned out he was just around the corner from us so I took a look at it first. Damned fine machine for 15 years old. Good luck with yours
