Soft Luggage Bargain

Ashamed to admit it but I have to say "Well done Riossi"..............

Was on a hunt for a set of Oxford Sport Throw over Panniers on Friday afternoon and visited a couple of bike shops in Berkshire. Got totally fed up with crap sales staff that weren't the slightest bit interested in selling me anything let alone answer simple questions about the products I was interested in buying. Both shops had the panniers I wanted at ?120. I walked out duie to their attitude and total lack of interest

So I strolls into Riossi in Southampton. As soon as I got in there the sales guy was full of energy and keen to do business. I enquired as to the price of the Oxford throw overs - ?120 same as the other two shops. However, keen to do a deal he asks me if I need a tank bag - 'already have one' I replied.........howsabout a tail pack?........."I tell you what" he says, "I'll do the panniers you want, the largest expandable tank bag Oxford make and the large tailpack for ?170".................well I bit his hand off. What a result.

So I sold my existing tankbag for ?40 to a mate - leaving me with brand new matching everything by Oxford in black for ?130!

Needless to say I'm as happy as a pig in shit.............and Riossi tell me that the deal is repeatable...................resulth

So looks like all those on the trip in June will be Oxford luggage upped! It may not be as good as the hard stuff, but at least you can whip it all off when you get to ya desination and scratch around without the satelitte dish and climbing frame still attached :} although I think Reefa's bringing a gazeebo with him now

Mate - I've got so much luggage capacity now I reckon I could take everyone else's gear as well - and smuggle 1000's of cheap fags back!

The tank bag expands about twice as high as the one I had before - like up to and above a rather unsafe eye level.........

Well impressed with Riossi though - had I bought all the items on their own they would have set me back ?318..........

Got straight on the blower to Ian but he had already bought his a few days earlier................

Well the panniers and tank bag are full size expandable from the Oxford 'Sports' range..................the humpback thing for the pillion seat is also Oxford 'Sports'.................I'm sure that all the Riossi shops will do the same deal..........

Just tell them that Dan at Riossi Southampton said so..............

RE humpback panniers

whent to my local bike shop yesterday picked up a pair of black oxford humpback panniers for ?69 quid dead chuffed with em,
also the same price at the little shop behind sherban cafe,
bit confused though, got a load of ''extra'' bungees in the pack had the panniers on last night, couldnt work out where they all had to go bungees that is,:dunno:

you need to make sure they are fitted correctly!
it should tell you in the instructions where to stick the extra bungees
if in doubt there is instructions on the oxford website

ive already got a oxford tank bag..so if anyone wants a tankbag brand new ill have one up for grabs(sorry joe:} ) pretty soon

i've had a good ol gander at the instructions, they suggest to me that the bungees are in addition to the adjustable straps,so no problem there, ive tried to find the site for oxford products but to no avail, any idea's ? please anyone, :h

called them today..only prob is there only flogging them in that deal cos there in the slow colour..ie black:B
the bird said no one wants em in black cos very few peeps want black bikes thease days..which i had to agree on:f

so ive ordered red ones for me..cost a little more..ok shit loads more, but at least they will be quicker:cry:

unless hes thinking of the cheap quality northern gear in oxfords range..ie its called oxford pro or oxford first
