I'd love to DS but a GXR250RR (if they made one) would be enough for me.

I know all bikes do the same thing to a lesser or greater degree but peeps who haven't tried a Gixer thou have no idea what power to weight ratio really is.
I know they are only as quick as you twist the throttle but they really are something different.

Makes you think again about JR and the likes.

I'd love to have a go on 250 GP stroker. It would probably bog down and give up on me but I bet they are a rush when you get them in the band.
I used to have a 1986 RG500 and I loved that kick you get with a stroker althou gh it was quite grunty.
Aah putoline. Smelled just like calpol. (fathers will know what I mean)

It looks like a lot of guys here ride a lot of different things... So far it looks like Bobby Pinderi beats everyone hands downMe I've ridden few different birds. Some nice and well behaved, some rough and ready, some smooth and silky. And my motorbike also.

My TL1000s,with ART carbons, wow these things are bloody ace, dont belive the hype about them, till you ride one, The press said "handling probs/ widow maker etc...", Ok you look how short the wheel base is, the rake, and other geomatery. Its no CBR600 is it!, its going to be a little unstable in'it!c7u8 , Those of you that have raced bikes or do race them, with acute rake/small wheel base etc will agree that your race bikes are unstable (they have to be to stear as quick as you need em too) hence the dampers!, and if your 11 stone you will struggle with a TL as they are a handfull and some times you have to pull them about a bit but thats what makes them so much bloody fun.

"Hope to god someone on here agrees?":-:

Just one other

The BMW R1200GS  :yo: what a great bike, picks the wheel up out of corners in second just of the throttle  (totally unexpected for that type of bike) but sadly I could not own one due in no small part to meeting the BMW OC in France. Maybe I could if I removed the badges, sorry Clive I hate to generalise and I defiantly don?t include you here but BMW riders :shooter: can be a right bunch of WA%KERS g0551p

Over the year it's been these

XR400 blinding on the dirt and the trails
cbr 600 loads of fun in a little packet
Daytona 600 brilliant fun through the twisties of glen shee
bandit 600 clunky gears and underpowered
bandit 1200S pretty stable and reasonably quick
New Z1000 hoolagan motorcycling at it's best (front wheel goes up, front wheel down, front wheel up front wheel down, ha ha ha ha ha ha)
1200 Sportster Custom feckin pig, (45mph lowside due to absolutly no grip whatsoever, concusion for a week)
1200 Sportster Sport with uprated brakes supension and engine far better than above and great fun when racing bikes can't loose you on the twisties, but still had to go.
VTR firestorm that beutiful v twin rumble on a bike with torque power and handling
Saab 9000 turbo think this one can be included after a two wheel excursion round the devils elbow at cockbirdge although stricktly speaking it did end up a trike by the time I had finished and the front wheel had been ripped off.
V&M 1200 blackbird unspeakable joy! never felt excelleration like it. does exactly what it says on the tin:bow:
Will need to have a go on the standard bird this year to get an idea of the difference with the 1200

Ashamed to say, I haven't Joe !!!!!! :B But.....it does handle better than something of it's size would suggest. I was expecting a bike that went fine in a straight line but didn't like corners very much. What I got was a bike that leans, stays stable, and with a good rider on board would most probably grind it's pegs and panniers !!!

It does lack the initial 'grunt' of an inline 4 away from a line.....but once it's wound up it'll motor along at highly illegal speeds !!!! (or so I'm told)

If we meet up at some point you're welcome to try mine and see if it suits yer before you make a decision on buying one.
