Slapping Sound

I know that this is somewhere but I can't find it.
My 41,000 Bird has a quite loud slapping sound once hot and bee "ridden"(Only on tick-over, disappears under load)
I have read somewhere that it is probably the primary/drive chain.
I have a spare engine, 27,000, that I intend to replace the slapper with.
What do I need to replace the drive chain and "other associated bits"
Cheers

Have you checked the downpipes for corrosion or seal leaks.

A few have assumed the worst only to find it is a simple exhaust issue.

I realised that, Deano.

It was just that he asked for help and no-one answered. In the hope that may still be coming back to look if he hasn't solved the problem. :-0)

Clueless in most things
To be fair, like most forums, we do from time to time get someone join only because they have a problem and unless they receive an answer within 5 seconds, are never seen again.

As a forum I think in general most do attempt to help with an issue and in a timely manner. The fact he's not posted since may mean he actually used the search properly after posting and may have found the answer?

I would agree the exhaust area would have been my first lookee.
