Well Folks.........I went and did it.
Against the advice of some. I ordered my new X-Spirit from Japan.
(The Norick T/C2 is not yet available in the U.K.)
I tried one on for size in local dealer first.
Delivery was confirmed on Monday. It arrived at my address at 1300h on Thursday. Pretty good eh ?
Took it for a test ride yesterday. What a splendid lid !! And a perfect fit.
Much quieter than my old Shoei TXR (and I did`nt think that was noisy).
Very stable at speed - No buffeting at all.
Excellent Pinlock visor system, would not mist up even when I exhailed as hard as I could.
Full credit to Shoei for a first class product.
Nice init ????????

Last few lids have all been Arai, but now Shoei and

have to say it, I prefer XR1000 to the X-Spirit and yes I was able to roadtest a sample X-Spirit :yo:

I,ve hear that a retro kit to fit a pinlock system to old Shoei are about ?18, is this true? coz mine is an XR900 which would improve winter riding.

The pin lock is not much better than a fog city really but you can fit them or even buy the visor with it. Go for the race version though for better visibility.

I think the pinlock is much better than the fog city as the plastic is harder and you can take the whole thing to pieces and wash it. Just watch out you don't loose the pins! I have tried two seperate places and neither has heard of the race version!!! :dunno:

T'other half has the X-Spirit in black. Light and comfortable - most definately. Quiet - no way. Much nosier than the previous lid, and that's with custom ear plugs in as well. She's thinking of putting some extra foam into the ear recesses to reduce the noise a bit more. Also kept misting up when we were away - now has one of the Oxford de-mister visor things attached to the visor, and the finish is 'soft' - chips all over the place.

Only had it a couple of months (at most) , and already looking for a replacement.
