Shetland Islands

Just for the sake of touring somewhere a bit out of the ordinary...
Planning a trip up to the northern tip of the shetland islands in mid-June (with tent). Heading up from Merseyside, via Aviemore and John O'Groats to Scrabster for the ferry to Orkney. Explore Orkney a bit then catch ferry to Lerwick in the Shetland islands. Then making my way up via 2 more ferry crossings to the northern tip of Unst. Ferry back will be the long trip from Lerwick to Aberdeen, so effectively a big loop.
Any thoughts, experiences, suggestions, places to see, or failing that even a little bit of abuse will be gratefully received. :-0)

Yup. I suggest you save that trip till Sept and take in the Scottish Bash and nip over to Europe in June.

Yeah, thought about that Mick but a couple of mates are coming along and we've all re-jiggered our work commitments to accomodate.
Still, there's no reason I couldn't do the Scottish bash as well. It's an excuse for another long ride-out (not that I need an excuse! R#?).
