Shell grip road surfaces

There appears to be an increasing use of this stuff on my local roads. It is supposed to provide extra grip, but as I approached one of my favorite sweeping lefts I realised they'd put this stuff down. Given that the stuff is supposed to provide more grip, I banked the BB over as usual, however much to my surpise while in the corner I began to feel the front end going, so I ended up taking the corner a little wider than usual. Anybody had a similiar experience or know anything about this shell grip stuff ?

Is a lunp
got it all over is stevenage as well,is supposed to be gripper, is also much more abrasive so don't fall off on the stuff.

i don't like changes in road surface on bends, in my opoin that is asking for trouble.

is also a damm sight more expensive as well.

The shell grip is only grippier when its bedded in properly. You have to watch it when its freshly laid down cos they dont sweep up the loose chippings once they are done. They seem to rely on the cars to dissapate the chippings to the verge.

BTW it bloody hurts when you hit it too!
