It's December, silly bollocks.

I'm actually very pleased because they kept their word and are scrapping the tolls now that the bridge is paid for. Shame the same can't be said for those lying, thieving twats that run the Dartford Crossing.

Pretty much all the income generating infrastructure in the uk is owned by overseas investors.

The Dartford tunnel is free for motorbikes. At least it was when I came back from a Germany trip this summer.

Once again bikes are better than cars.

We were told when the bridge project was seeking planning approval that when the bridge has paid for itself, it would then become free to all, it paid for itself around 2003.

My worry now is, bikes were free because of the difficulty in getting cash out of the pocket of bike gear, now there is no cash and no booths, I wonder if they will apply the prepaid fee to bikes as well as other vehicles

They still have to queue to go through the barriers so, no, really, they aren't better than cars.

And I used to poo myself going over it on a bike - didn't realise how low the sides are :eeeeek:

I only came back through the tunnel, not over the bridge- went the other way round the road to hell on the outward journey via the Ace Cafe.

There were no barriers but there was a queue caused by all the idiots in cars taking up the road space. If they were all on bikes there would be no queues.

So bikes truly are bettererer.

Come on you Hatters
Went over QE2 bridge Friday evening and have just come back through the tunnel this afternoon, no charge both ways. Bridge over Le Harve was free too, although we’ve paid about €14 in peage tolls getting back to Calais from Normandy.

You poo'd yourself because you were never toilet trained. Being on a bike had nothing to do with it.

Used the M6 Toll a couple of months ago on the bike. stopped at the barrier, took my time taking my gloves off, unzipping my jacket pocket, getting some money out of my pocket, paying it over (by which time I had a string of vehicles behind me), zipping my jacket pocket back up ( car horns began sounding) putting my gloves back on again, popping the bike into gear & finally pulling away.

I was in no hurry. (y)
