When I was at School I accepted that there were things I was good at & things I was hopeless at, I was good at Rugby but had no interest, I loved Football but wasn’t really good enough for the School team & always started as sub or if i started I was often first to be subbed, we had a lad called Billy Punton who was the top Schoolboy goalkeeper in the County, he only managed to play a few pro games for Bradford City, we had a lad called Sean Cahill who was an excellent runner, he ran at the Olympics, he married Christina boxer, the pe teachers weren’t really interested in the rest of us (until I started boxing) but spent hours encouraging the good ones.
If I was at School now the Sean Cahills & Billy Puntons would be ignored & I would be praised for being crap.
