Oh, I've just noticed. Where's BMW in that?

I readily admit this is selective, I didn't bother with the list of the fifty models most likely to pass first time.
BMW i8 was number two on that!

Only ever had 2 cars fail an mot, the current heap and a ford many years ago, not surprising really as both were/are wrecked

Bit ambiguous, any car can fail an mot, I had a car fail it’s first mot for a slight crack in the number plate, Bev’s friend mot’d her Nissan terrano at the same gsrage (cross lane, Flanshaw, Wakefield) her number plate was taped together, it passed but they just told her to get another plate

Just done a bit of research & the reason Dacias are more likely to fail their first mot is that they are such good vfm many are used as taxis (particularly the Logan) & so are such high mileage when mot time comes round

I've just done a bit of research, too. The reason they're more likely to fail their first MOTs is that they're f'ing crap.

Figures look like complete bollocks to me....does it take into account number of cars sold to the public?if not then obviously more Fords or dacias will fail compared to over priced stuff that sell loads less
..

Looking at the amount of older BMWs on the road, I’m not sure I agree with you. They obviously pass their MOTs otherwise they wouldn’t be in the road.

Testing is minimum standard; a bit like your taste in motor cars Dirk. However I understand as you are a tight Northern monkey.

Are these the same Dacia's that have just been awarded a lowly 2 star rating on ENCAP safety standards ?
Strange, as they use the Renault platform which I think gets a 4 or 5 star rating !
I'm expecting derek to come back now with " we don't need no soft southern airbags in yorkshire ! ":couch:
