Hi As suggested copy of my diary below
It is just ramblings and odd notes made during a few spare moments on route - hence not very polished but I dont want to kill my own atmosphere by rewriting it from home.

Thanks to David Grist at H-C Travel, Overton, Hamphire for making the bike hire so easy and for all the background information.
No thanks to American Airlines who lost my bags and do not have a telephone line to a real person in the States.
