The shop I work in is open New year day and yet food shops are shut
No extra just counts as a normal working day
Previously people would get slated if they said shops should shut as the workers would then be deprived of the chance of double rate etc.
However nowadays it seems that many contracts disregard the Bank Holidays which just seems wrong. We never go shopping for anything on Boxing Day or New Years day. Don't see the need to!

The only advice I can give is to make sure if you have a hangover it is in your employers time.
Wipes. they do my head in
I was looking for the pledge to polish the paintwork on my bike. But I was informed we dont have any now. We have leather wipes, sterile wipes, furniture wipes, baby wipes, window wipes, floor wipes, screen wipes, arse wipes and god knows what else wipes...but no bike wipes! What an absolute waste of the earths resources.

Americanisms creeeping into English....these two in particular get my goat:
Putting "already" at the end of a sentence. e.g. Hurry up and get it finished, already.
The phrase "get go" e.g. He was ready to do it from the get go.

Just had another look back through the post and nowhere does it say "andrew birdless" so unless it's "said/fact" that no one likes you, I don't see the "keep up at the back" statement is warranted!!Do try and keep up at the back....
