That's very exciting! Wish I could discover something like that.

One of the features at my golf club is that part of the course is on an Iron Age fort along with features from a number of wars with France and Ww1 and 2. Its amazing how many people play on the course and it never crosses their minds that the various features are man made.

Local history is a fascinating subject, alaways been into it wherever I have lived. Where I am now is on the site of a massive transit camp for troops, mainly Canadian, in WW1 and was also a transit camp for D Day in WW2.

On my way to school when I was a kid, I used to walk past the remains of a hill fort almost every day. the road was even called 'Castle Hill'. All that was visible was a small mound in a field, approx. 10m high and 30m in circumference.

I remember talking to the history teacher about it and remember being told that it was an interesting idea but there were no castles or forts in the area except for the one in the local big town, Barnstaple. What I could see was 'geology'.

Went right off history after that, probably because the teacher was a dumba$$.
