Not a big name in the movie world but he was the director of the "Up" series that followed the lives of a group of children from various backgrounds from the age of 7. In my opinion the finest piece of TV ever made and I hope it continues especially as 63 Up is due in the not-too-distant future providing the remaining participants are still willing.
