............Bash coming up and I'm fed up with Kenny FM. ie me bike to bike comms. I have a baby Autocom which feeds into a standard PMR handset.

I know Jaws reckons the set is overmodulating but I disagree cos it works fine on other peeps setups and on it's own.

I reckon there's too much juice coming down the mic line into the radio from me autocom.

To dis/prove this theory, I want to fit a variable pot inline. But what value? Linear or Logarithmic ?

its got to be your mic DB,,,,,,,,, you can change the foam bits on the mic part m8,,,, easy, peasy ,, done mine again this year man8um makes hell of a difference.

Sorry DB, you canna do it mate.. The mikes used are electret and require a supllied voltage.. Putting a pot in line will not only reduce the volume but the voltage too.. Generally if the voltage drops much below what i needs the mics simply die a death :xm
Try Shrops mod.. It will effectively reduce your audio input and thereby restrict the deviation
