Riding confidence

My point being in this thread that the guy was on a Blade in a 30 limit and couldnt exicute a mini-roundabout.
Speed was not an issue, we were all equally spaced. I had to take evaisive action to miss the plonker as did the bike behind me with the rest of the pack having to wait while he got the bike facing the correct way again.
During the rest of the rideout most riders who witnessed the event tried their hardest to keep out of the way.
The twat however seem to take great relish in riding in the bike in fronts blind spot, so Steveo, practice what you preach.
I also understand the same tactics were employed on the main bash making this the norm rather than a single mistake
GET TRAINED AND LIVE LONGER. !!!!!

you are not capable
if you lot riding behind him were at a safe distance, there'd be no need for evasive action to be taken.......

Just popped in to agree with others if someone is too close to me i will wave them past.If i think a group are dangerous i will pull out the group and make my own way.If i decided to break test someone or cut across them because i felt they where too close i would be fully expecting an arse kicking as a result. Its dangerous stupid and would lead to an arse kicking if it was done to me...Someone who chooses to risk my life because they feel im riding too close.Isnt that like killing someone for shop lifting ?

Just a suggestion Steve if you feel someone is too close wave them by if you want to ride in the speed limit im all for that but the middle of a group on a ride out really isn't the place for you.Ride to your own limits don't try to ride at a pace that your not comfortable with. The first ride out i ever did i staggered myself from the bike in front of me i was never told it was just common sence to me :dunno:

Am i a track god ? NOPE
Loads of experiance with rideouts ? NOPE
Loads of experiance group riding ? NOPE

Its all just common sense to me abilty doesn't really enter into it

Stay safe enjoy your riding

After adjusting the chain and correcting the wheel alignment:wank: I took the bird out. I wanted to be confident of its ability to handle and no longer run wide.
I am now confident that it's almost as easy to ride, at all speeds, as the blade.
More generally though, because of gypsy's jibes, I've begun practicing riding round islands, of various sizes. Because of a damaged right arm I find these difficut. But practicing difficult things until you can do them easilly builds confidence.
Both smix and two stroke tart have lost confidence in their ability to ride a bike. If they still want to ride all they need to do, I think, is to practice the things they find difficult to do.
Confidence ameliorates nervousness. :-0)

I will not be riding with any bikers who can't keep a proper distance. If this applies to you so be it.

:yo::yo::yo:Thanks for the best laugh I have had in a long time.
Am so glad you live 300+ miles away, for me thats what I call riding to close to you, judging from the crap you are spouting, riding in a group is never a problem if you can RIDE a bike.
I for one would love to here you Bike(s) history.
The best bit of advice I would give you is (shit this is all wrong).............
Take Fat Berts Advice "could just save a life!!!!"

I think this thread perhaps gives a final answer to any "lack of confidence" queries for Smix.

As an aside, some of my job involves having to formally recommend retraining for people, often for a number of different reasons. One of the big absolute wrongs is giving this recommendation in public - it must always be done in private. This thread seems to make it fairly clear why!

HANG ON A COTTON PICKING MINUTE

Where the hell did I say I've lost confidence?????? WTF?? What the hell gives you the right to assume that?????? Jeez - as if enough people who've not seen me ride don't already make assumptions/criticise me.

FFS - please do not go making assumptions, let alone posting them

Yeah - on occasion stuff has happened that makes the adrenalin flow, but I don't believe anyone who says they've never had a 'moment'. And it hasn't stunted my confidence. I also still have a healthy respect for other road users and tarmac

Anyway - bike will be back with me on Saturday, and two weeks on Sunday I'll be hurtling round Cadwell Park on it. Maybe I really have lost confidence, I mean, Cadwell Park is a good starting point huh???

Everyone has their 'Personal' space, I object to artics following 4 feet behind me, or when traffic boxes me in on the motorway and so give a bit of a squirt to get into some space.

But to solve all your troubles why not just volunteer to be the 'Tailend Charlie' on any ride, you can keep your licence safe and are guarenteed from the weekend warriors giving you grief.

What do you say ....
