Me First then.........

Couple of years ago, we stayed at a Pub called

Lion Hotel
Llanbister,
Llandrindod Wells,
Powys
LD1 6TN
Tel: 01597 840244

In Mid Wales On the A483, between Newtown and Llandrindod Wells....

Stayed in a small Flat behind the Pub, Shower, Kitchen and Lounge cum Bedroom, had this plus full home cooked English breakfast in front of an open fire for ?40 a night for the two of us..Hosts were friendly and the pub quiet. They do a range of home cooked evening meals as well. Pool table, Darts board, juke box..

Roads in this area were fantastic, and its only a short hop too the coast, mountains etc..

Guest house in Bayeux France

Hi

Mags and I spent the second week in June in Bayeux France. We stayed at a guest house a short walk from the old town centre which is close to most of the local landmarks/ attractions. The accommodation is separate from the owners accommodation within a large walled garden, very secure for bikes. There are 3 rooms available so it would be ok for a group booking.

Myriam the owner speaks very good English (though she won?t admit it) and has a great deal of knowledge about Bayeux and the surrounding area. She and her family are very laid back and relaxed about things, breakfast can take an hour of enjoyable conversation and home made preserves.

We will definitely go back and stay with Myriam again.

Normandy Beach B&B in Arromanches

Hi All,

Cannot recommend Normandy Beach B&B enough following our stay in June 2007.

We arrived around 8pm to a welcoming beer and cheery hello, followed by an escort from Karen down in to town to help locate a restaurant for some food.

Breakfasts were plentiful - far more than I could eat and I can pack away plenty, but at least we could miss lunch if we wanted too.

Details are here:

Owners: Adrian & Karen Cox

A nice cottage near Vire in France

Bout 90 mins from Le Havre in a lovely village with a bar and food a short walk away (priorities!) and owned by a good mate of mine, even though he has a VFR..

http://www.lagraverie.co.uk

The owners, Michael and Beverly are only about 15 mins away if there are any problems and are always willing to help if possible. There is garage parking for the bikes and the property is nicely positioned on a small side road off the main street, but close to the village amenities.

Central hotel in the Dolomites

I stay here every time I go to the Dolomites - good food, really comfortable accommodation, with a secure garage for bikes, and hoses to wash the bike down at the end of the day. Also has a washing machine and dryer you can use.

Careful using the internet - works on megabytes used so can be expensive.

In the village of Arabba, which is a great central base for the Dolomites.

Bikers' Hotel in the Vosges region of France

- Very friendly place
- Good grub
- Plenty of off-road parking

Found this place by accident after a very wet ride. A very different experience from the Hotel Campanile type hotel chains.

Highly recommended.

Located in the Ardennes, Belgium. A lovely hotel, clean, top service, nice grub, parking outside for bikes but hotel manager ( Jaque) will sort out parking in barn next to hotel if you want indoor parking, you will have to tip the farmer 5 euro a night for this but to be honest we used to do that but now park outside, no crime happens there!

Hotel is nice. In the middle of nowhere, so once you are there you are there. nearest town and petrol station about 4 miles away.

Bar stays open late and top beer:-0)

Some cracking roads and the staff are excellent.

Been there 5 times and will go again this year. Can't fault the place. Manager is top man. One of my friends came off his Zx9 and he phoned a friend who owned a garage in nearby village. Went out of their way to help us get his bike fixed overnight for our return to UK. Outstanding service.

I've been there with group of 7 and as many as 32! The hotel will look after you whatever!

Mind you the bar staff probably hate the sight of us! they know they are up for a very late night when we arrive :-0)

I organise a trip around Scotland every year for around 20 bikes. I always make a point of stopping in Kinlochleven as it is in the middle of the best D roads in the Uk. When there We stop at either the Blackwater Hostel or the Macdonald hotel

http://www.macdonaldhotel.co.uk/

Kinlocheleven is just south of Fort William and a great place to start your tour of the Highlands. (if your coming from Birmingham or above in england or its a bit far for one day.
