I caught a chap who gave his dog a slap outside of a local supermarket. I said if I see you do that again I’ll punch the fuck out of you. He said, you do and I’ll get the police. I told him he wouldn’t be able to talk without any teeth. He shut up. And then my wife asks me why I’m so nasty to people, I can’t win

It all depends on the situation, I can think of at least one situation where if I received a verbal threat I would respond with immediate violence so to say words don't hurt isn't always the case, if I was being attacked I would be stupid to do nothing & take a beating.
A couple of years back I gave a lad a few kicks up the arse as he had a dog tied to some railings & was booting hell out of it, fully expected daddy to come round (or the police) but never heard another thing about it.
I am generally very placid & do not like violence however like anybody else I have my limits.

Woman or not I would have punched her in the throat given the chance, then probably asked how SHE felt not being able to breathe, happy to take whatever sentence was handed out for it as well as i really hate these abhorrent bastards
