Not much of a mission to some, but I'm so chuffed!!!!

Rear Wheel out
everything cleaned and greased
sprocket cleaned
adjusters out cleaned and polished
swingarm cleaned as best possible (it needs replacing and then polishing before its nice to look at)
hugger off - not quite clean yet - serious old chain goo in there!
riders pegs and brackets polished
exhausts polished
everything removed replaced
wheel back in (eventually - hard work on your own when you haven't done it for a very very long time!)
chain cleaned, lubed and STRAIGHT!!!!! LOL LOL LOL

I'm knackered - hope to god it starts in the morning now!!!!!! LOL

tomorrow night - some effort on the fairings!!!!! :} :} :} :}

Tip for goo in the chainguard/hugger ... sort out some old newspapers and a bit of wooden stick (supply of old lolly sticks are ideal!!).

Use the lolly sticks to scrape out as much of the goo as possible onto the papers and then use something like gunk/jizer etc to soak in and wash out what's left.

Messy job but well worth the effort!!

Tip for degreasing, buy a nice machine mart 75litre parts washer..........luvly. Red as well so it matches my toolchest and my eyes.


Funny, I started servicing the bird yesterday, oil changed, filter done, front brakes stripped and cleaned. Chain sparkling.....turns out it's actually gold not black after all!!!

Rear end to do now (bike not mine which is always clean)!
