Fat boy Bert.

Easy fit mate.

Just lift tank, and undo the nut that holds the top of the shock in place. Remove the bolt that goes through, that holds the upper bracket in, then pull the shock forward. (This is done on the center stand). Place the 6mm spacer on top of the shock, and refit.

As you start doing it, it should become self explainatory.

You get better ground clearance, and it fall's alot better into corners/bends.

I did mine 10 months ago, love it. I rode another bird 2 weeks ago and could def feel the difference without the spacer.

CHEERS MATE

sounds easy - remember that I don't have a lot of "mechanical grey matter" - wait for sarcastic comment from Cyclops - it took the two of us 2.5 hours to change my pipes over the new Art ones!!!!

It did

30 mins to fit the pipes and 1.5 hours where Bert was moaning they had sent the wrong ones/we had 2 left sides etc. LOL

:p :p

Is a lunp
no not really in my expierence, turns the front in quicker, gives better ground clearance.

Bert before you settle on 6 mm try others, you need to find the best for you, how tall are you as it raises the seat height, I did have 13mm in there at one time, loved the feeling of being that high and leaning on the bars, but could see no benifits, in fact me wife could not get on properly and i was faster with 4mm in , but i have settled on 7mm at the moment.

I do make and sell the spacers to any size you may want, but be warned ! Much over 6 or 7mm and things start getting a tad exciting....
They cost 2.50 gbp a go...
Ok, that sthe advert outa the way.. but if you want to save your dosh, go to a hardware store and get a few large tank washers which will do the same job :)

Dark Angel

Still kickin' it!

Indeed I do Sire, guilty as charged. Better than some of the new shite that the riding Gods come out with though:lol:

Q1. Will my Blackbird be faster due to the weight saving if I fil both tyres with Helium?

Q2. Will my Blackbird be quicker steering if I fill the front tyre with Helium or Hydrogen due to being lighter at the front?

Q3. If I T Cut the paintwork back wil the weight saving be worthwhile?

Q4. I can spin my rear tyre at any opportunity, and drift into bends all the time, why hasn't a GP team signed me up?

and so on.
Good point, well put.

Q1 yes

Q2 yes

Q3 No ( though it will make a difference )

Q4 Cos obviously your right hand has sod all control .. try keeping the bike under control a little more.. There is a brain/arse interface that equates to a built in traction control .. Use it.

So there ya go Mac.. all questions duly answered and now everyone can jump on the thread and debate both the questions and answers ( again )

Ahhh.. a slight error there Mac..
I was under the impression you posed the question on behalf of others ( sort of thing ) so my replies were not aimed at you but others who might possibly be somewhat more lithe than me and thee !
