Thought I should try the bargain tent out before the Bash next week. I have it pitched on the front lawn and it has been out for the last two nights, first morning it was full of water, proving the groundsheet works really well, but the outer is crap. 2nd day I re-proofed the outer with some spray on stuff to find this morning full of water again. It looks like being a playtent for the kids from now on.
I now have the options of using my old 3 man tent (bulky on a bike) or finding a replacement before friday :bang:

Went out to a couple of camping places today, and the quality is crap too say the least, wouldn't trust any of them in a good downpour.
The terra nova website is down so I can't see what factory seconds or ex-demo's they have, my last two tents came from them as they are 5 minutes down the road, and the quality is excellent.
Anyone got a Solar one they are selling, I found one on ebay, but it needs picking up from Happisburgh or Norwich, as the seller won't post, and this weekend I am not in Yarmouth :xm .

How stoney is the camping at the bash, just in case you need a groundsheet protector ??

DONT BUY A PRO-ACTION SYDNEY tent, no matter how cheap it is.

Anyone else close enough to pick the tent up ?

The camping is ok at the Bash easy to pitch and stones not a problem
Why not pick up the tent while your down there ?Norwich isnt that far away .Or another alternative is to send the tent by parcel2go about ?12 each way picked up from home delivered to Jaws who takes it to the rugby ground ,that what i have done for the last three years with my little 5 man tent

Now that's a good idea

Thanks for that Eddie, I missed your call,
I was out trying to find a replacement washer for my meths stove. Today has been a check everything ready for next weekend sort of day.
You put your camping gear away and never touch it again over the winter, only to find it in a poor state of affairs, Doh !

I did mention to my Mrs about picking the tent up on the way down, she wasn't too sure about leaving it so late, and having a problem when you get there.

B&B

could you not take the numbers of a few B&B's just in case!! :dunno:
Money for B&B is saved up ready for the IOM TT the following week, so funds are tight. Under nylon it is for me ( I have got a canvas tent, now that really is heavy ).
Buying a smaller tent means I can use it again and again on weekend aways on the bike.
