Puig screen, why is fitting never a straight fit!!

Just bought a Puig dark smoke double bubble, nice looking, recessed fit, like the original, so it looks good, only problem is because the screen is thinner when you use the original top bolt and nut because the bolt is part sleeved the nut uses all the thread and stops, meaning the bolt is too loose and there is movement in top of screen.

I just wish Puig would with make a built in spacer or supply one. I'm sure they can't be the only screen manufacturer that causes this issue but it f***s me off

I ended up using one of the other full threaded bolts and cut about 4mm off length so I could still have same nut and bot effect and job done. Just ordered 2 new genuine bolts to replace ones I used

Although a quick enough and easy job to do you shouldn't have to do anything, if you buy a part specifically made for the Blackbird it should fit :bang:

Could you not use a rubber gromit as a washer,?? I had the same problem on a Hornet and it rattled and squeaked like mad, until I raided the "plumbing" box and used a few rubber washers/grommets!! :dunno:

Yes you could, you would have to fit it under the trim, between the screen and cockpit trim, trouble doing that is the trim would be pushed away from the screen and leave a gap that would look fugly but that's just my OCD kicking in :-

Clueless in most things
Bought a powerbronze db in the last few weeks and the same issue, the holes weren't even the right size. I did as Robbo suggested but I used black fibre washer on the nut side.
