We are getting post at all sorts of times of the day alongside the regular 10.30 ish delivery (due to corvid) wtf thats got to do with it i dont have a clue but whatever works is fine with me

Yesterday a postie walked past our front window & the door rattled, 2 small parcels had been stuff in the letter box, not through just in because he couldn't be arsed to take off the elastic band :(

Ok whatever lazy twat! once I got them disentangled from the letter box i found them both addressed to someone else at a completely different house number 4 streets away :nusenuse:

Off I trot with a shout of "postieeeeeeeeee !"
"here you are mate these are not for us, this isnt the right street or number" all i got in response was a grunt as he continued stuffing seemingly random shit into random doors

Now I am wondering if he had delivered the whole street thinking it was the one 4 streets away & where the mail is for everyone in our street .................... you would have thought being able to read was a requirement of being a postman/woman/cabbage wouldnt you?

When I left the Forces I had a second job as a postie. While I was there they discovered that an Indian postman couldn't read. When he was initially shown his round he memorised the numbers and addresses.
The Post Office sacked him yet his success rate for correct deliveries was about average for the branch.

I live on Xxxxxx Lane. Up the road is Xxxxxx Drive. We've had stuff delivered there more than once. We've also had post with our address but a different name and postcode, which just goes to show the PO don't take any notice of it despite how much they tell us to use it.

We have similar, our street has a similar name to one 3 miles away, the other street name has an E on the end where as ours doesn't

The post codes are completely different but we regularly get their mail, parcels, pizza deliveries & all sorts of other stuff, presumably they get stuff for our street, the only saving grace for us is there isn't a house up there with our number but other people in the street are not so lucky
