We all knew about it back then. Didn't you get the memo..?If you lot think it's tuff:
I've been trying to organise a fookin rideout since January.
I totally 100% agree Derek.Going to play Devil’s advocate here, as someone who works in a highly stressful environment I know only too well how necessary for personal health & wellbeing it is to have an escape, many times in the past I have come home from work, sat down with a cuppa & found myself still stressed to the eyeballs so gone for a blast out on the bike, some will argue that it is not the best frame of mind in which to ride a powerful missile, to them I say “it is more dangerous to sit seething when you have high blood pressure” a ride out on my own never failed to calm me down.
I say it as I see it.
You should know that.
Blizzards coming tomorrow,I use my bike to get to work. The roads are feckin empty, its brilliant!
I'm on nights this week and going in the temp is about 12° and the roads are dry and, oh did I mention that they're EMPTY?
Shame it's almost freezing at 06:00 on my way home!

Yup, I agree with that as well!Personally I see nothing wrong with going for a walk in the countryside. It enriches the soul, great for physical health and also mental wellbeing. Walking round urban streets just doesn't do anything for me. So long as you take your own provisions and maintain distances there should be no risk with carona virus. Sorry if that offends. Besides I'm in far more danger from the virus while shopping for groceries or working.
I can't get to the gym and it's driving me crackers. Ok, I can train at home to an extent but I can't do any of the big compound lifts because I don't have the gear.I totally 100% agree Derek.
Just not to be done at the moment....everyone else has foregone doing things they love (apart from the numpties who think they are invincible and/or can't spread the virus as they feel fine and/or just don't like conforming) to conform with government instruction.
Short term pain for individuals, long term gain for everyone.
Be safe out there.

Try going on to Amazon to buy a pull up bar that doesn't require fixing to the wall and the good ones are all out of stock and those that are available are delivered at the end of April. Expect to see a ton of second hand fitness gear on fleabay when this is all over and done with.
I have just been reading about Derbyshire overtly deploying drones last night to check where people had travelled from. It would appear some had travelled from Sheffield just to walk their dogs some 30 mins away.....is this reasonable....I think not.
However reading through the article I then started to come across groups such a Liberty calling into question the actions of the police and how oppressive it is.
I very quickly stopped reading it and began to wish that some of these people would catch this virus and maybe then it would bring home to them the reasons why the police needed to be out. Bunch of do gooder tossers
If you look at the boundary for Derbyshire, you'll find areas of Sheffield border it. It's not surprising then to find people from Sheffield in the Peak District if it's next door.I have just been reading about Derbyshire overtly deploying drones last night to check where people had travelled from. Just going back to where this thread seemed to explode!
While the roads are quiet, it has actually been quite pleasurable and relaxing to ride around 'within' the speed limits,
without having to think about the cretin that's not paying attention to you.
So riding now is less likely to result in a trip to A&E.
