Poignant songs

As you know I am partial to a bit of ABBA but there is one of their songs that reduces me to tears when I hear it & that is “slipping through my fingers”
It reminds me of of what I missed out on with my Children due to long hours at work & how I cannot get that time back, since part time & retirement I manage to spend more time with Grandkids but due to Joe’s condition I spend a lot of time battling him & then cuddling him, I look at Gracie & Tilly, Tilly at four years is absolutely brilliant, she never fails to make us laugh but Gracie at nine is understanding more & realising what an arsehole her Father is, she is really bright but lacks confidence, she is a fantastic runner & easily wins all her races over any distance on sports day yet still says she cannot run, htf do I show her how good she is, we have tried everything but she cannot see it, I may be looking at pointing the finger of blame but I really believe her Dad is 100% to blame, she hates going to her Dad’s but our hands are tied.

Lots of songs have brought me to tears over the years. I couldn't listen to Angels by Robbie Williams for many, many years after it was used in the funeral of my 14 year old cousin who died of lung cancer.

Cats in the cradle does it for me.. words are so very true
My son used to play it at a time in the troubled teenage years. I'm not sure it wasn't a message to me but I never pursued that idea. I wasn't capable really, didn't know how.

I'm amused now about things he call me to talk about. I think I'm first to be told.

Again, if we all knew then....

He never planned to sing it, until she had a hit with it, then he started performing it as part of a duet.
He opened his amazing show at the O2 with Purple Rain followed by Nothing Compares.

Best concerti have ever been to, a bit of a surprise as I only went as Mrs B wanted to go.
