Lifting the bike.

Oh it's so much more fun when it's in the arse end of France on an unmade road and has fallen over the 90 degree mark because of the extreme road camber and is very heavily laden with tank bag, both panniers plus tent etc on the passenger seat.
Better still when the french muppet in the Range Rover behind you watches you strain, sweat and curse only to give you the 'thumbs up' sign when you get it upright.

read your post about damage. what damage was there to the bike after it fell?

Unless its got a full tankbag,2 givi panniers (one containging tools + spare genny + reg/rec).then a large ortlieb stuffed with sleeping bags,tent + stuff.
Luckily it came to rest on my wifes bike on the steep hill :)-(.
One smashed screen and a couple of scratches .
It took 2 italians One bulgarian and a canadian to help us lift it .what an embarasment
