I thought you have had to have paid enough NI contributions to get a state pension???

Just make me sick
They have NO concept of the real world.
No good saying see how they get on living on £165 a week as it wont happen.. perhaps reminding them there are pensioners having to decide between eating and heating in the winter might work

I think they believe the urban myth that all pensioners own their own home and have good pensions of their own and so don't need a state pension, when the truth is so much different.

Radio man saying younger people will never own a home - think he was talking about 30s +.
Makes me think that when they retire they won't have a pension either, which will create a major homelessness problem particularly as rents will be outside their reach too.

The latest changes to landlord-tenant relationship along with the other changes to hurt landlords will inevitably see rents go up. I consider myself to be a 'good landlord' going way past what is reasonable to keep tenants contented (I like to think if you treat tenants well it will be reflected back) but if I lose the right to give them notice unless they have 'done something wrong' then the risk goes up so the reward needs to go up to reflect this. Why shouldn't I be able to sell an asset if I want? Stupid change that assumes all landlords are 'bad'.

I don't own my own house and have never been in a position to be able to afford to do so inspite of working full time until recently, no one when I was younger gave me any help there was no help to buy schemes.

Some youngsters are much better off than I was at their age, the other day I visited my brother and went past a college I used to go to and outside was a long row of cars, when I was there outside was a row of mopeds and cheap motorcycles as none of us could afford a car. Also I see them come into the shop and they have exspensive iPhones not cheap things.

So i ask which is the most hard done by generation?
