Hi,
I want to get some panniers and top box as a FULL kit with the racking included.
I don't care about the make, just as long as they are hard cases.
By the look of things, it is a bit of a mine field.
Can anybody help me, or point me out to a website where I can buy the full kit to bolt on to my bike.
Regards,
Hady

no problem

caldicote or somewhere that thinks it is welsh, but you are safe, you are too far away to go to his place, as that would cost you shit loads more money when he opens up the storage and you see all the bird bits he has.

he will see the message you have left him.

My thumbs up for a Givi wing rack and Givi panniers. Get a big one for the top box and smaller ones for the sides. Think mine are 46lt top, 36 or 38 sides.
Post a wanted add in teh bits for sale section on here if taffy hasn't got a set for you, or keep an eye on fleabay as they do come up.
New ?600+
Ebay around ?200-?300
On here ?150+

Someone on here is bound to chip in with some small, easy to take off and on mounting system, can't remember it's name. Takes a variety of boxes too apparently and means you don't have loads of scaffolding on your bike.

I think you may mean the SW Motech System

No Metalwork fitted (NB the rear rack is a bandit rather than BB specific unit as allows retention of the grabrail)

Hi Greenbriggs.
Went through the same mine field when looking for panniers for my bird. Got givi 45 litre top box and the same panniers. Wing rack system and a fitting kit. Managed to find them all second hand. Probably cost me ?250 altogether. Loads of room for 2 up touring for a couple of weeks. Not so good for filtering!

Clueless in most things
When I first started looking, during the war, the choices were similar and I resolved it like this.

On one of my birds my partner did not want to go on the back of the bike (probably why she is now an ex) it also meant I didn't tour/long distance often so I chose sw. I liked the sw's ability to temporary step into the breach without much fuss or effort then return to a non scaffold bike. It was more than able to do that temporary touring role. 40 on the back and 28's ? on the side.

Then when the next gf arrived she loved bikes and touring so the panniers grew to a e52 on the back( only for bulky but light items) and 40's at the sides. For purely piece of mind I fitted a wingrack to replace the sw as the load and how often it would be needed had increased. I don't think it looks as unwieldy as some claim at all.

Not a reccomendation just my personal opinion. Current swmbo is winding down her bike days now and the bird will go either this year or next and I'm more likely to use just a givi top plate unit and throw overs when the need arises on its replacement.
