Oxford Locks (rant)

Well blow me down with a feather.....Got a Oxford Monster chain and lock and lost one of the keys...Contacted Oxford Lock Department and they said have I got the number of the key.....No....No number on the key. Then he said ....Without that I cant help you, I must have the number.
Now cos I am getting old and I can't think quick enough I put the phone down, I should of said..... Then why sell me a bloody lock then, with no number on it in the first place.
The outcome is they are now off my christmas card list. Bastids.

so long as you have one key there shouldnt be a problem getting another cut,you need to go to a shop which specialises in security who also cuts keys and probably a lot cheaper

Well if its the barrel type of lock you could save a few bob and use a biro to open the thing.. but if it is the good old fashioned type then when they are supplied new you get two keys on a ring with a little metal tag.. On that tag is the lock number..

What is bad is that Oxford ( and proly lots of other firms ) do not tell you that the tag has the all important info on it, so if you don't know you simply chuck the tag away...

Update

Well I went to several locksmiths in Malaga and none of them could do it,then just by chance Trudi says lets try the key shop in Carrefour's (Tescos) and low and behold he done it..... What a star.
