My first school was in Malta, we lived in a flat in Valleta, my dad was in the RAF. I have some good memories of the place. But I think it might have changed a little since I was there.
Well the Germans and Italians have all buggered orf now. :couch:

No reason for a Herc to be low around there. No airfields there that a Herc would put down on, No Military Low Flying Zones and no scheduled execises.

Someone is keeping tabs on you....
It was about four or five years back - all I recall other than be somewhat surprised it was a blisteringly hot day so I am now wondering if it might have been to do with the Eastbourne Air Show (which is brilliant by the way!)

Already happened - there a quite a few craters on the course and in the surrounding area. I have always assumed these are from bombs that were dumped as soon as the enemy crossed the coast followed by a handbrake turn then home at full throttle.

There is a massive one by the first green. Sadly I have been down it more than once.

There's a bit of a difference between "I was buzzed by a Herc not too long ago" and "It was about four or five years back"..... you feckin' beanbag...!
I thought you meant in the last few days or weeks.

Probably was doing a pass for the Eastbourne Show.

I was buzzed by a Herc not too long ago down here - came straight at me at very low level while I was driving, low enough to scare the poo out of me. Anything you want to tell me?

Not sure they should have been that low but I loved it, but probably not as much as the crew did:)
Living between 2 battle areas we sometimes get 130's..
A long time ago we was in the back garden with the kids as were the neighbours when one flew over very very low.
The hold was open and solders we sitting on the edge..
As it passed over we were showered with sweets !

I expect you've had your fair share of A10's trimming the hedges.

Noisy fooking things.. but 9 out of 10 DO stick to the M.A.P., which is not a long way away ( it ends about 1/2 mile west of us, over the forest ) but in general we do not have to suffer tem right over head

'Four or five years back' is less than 10% of my lifetime there fore meets the Oxford. English Dictionary definition if 'not too long ago'.

What does it mean in your world? 10 minutes? Two weeks? Three months?

I am good, very good in fact, but psychic I ain't!!

Down here 98% of the flying is seagulls. Other 2% vintage aircraft.....in normal circumstances we get the two seat spitfire from Biggin Hill over most days plus frequent visits from other warbirds who seem to be drawn to The Seven Sisters and Cuckmere Valley where many WW2 film aerial shots were done, including big chunks of Battle of Britain and Piece of Cake.

You appear to have missed my answer...

"I thought you meant in the last few days or weeks."

.. which seemed perfectly reasonable given the context of the conversation. :bash:

Sorry Bill, I posted before I saw your comment, yes I visited strait street on a couple of occasions, I got a slap to the back of my head when I wouldn’t let a young lady grope me & I wouldn’t buy her a drink, I did have two tattoos done there.
