Love the ones that store the car in the "drawer" underneath.

Been in a couple .. Onyx counter tops, quarry tile floor area etc etc... Nice but every one we have seen is not suitable for us..
If I had the disposable I would design it my self

IMO it’s a totally impracticable design, clearly not suited to UK or Europe for the kind of use Jaws and myself use one for. As soon as you get anywhere above 8m-ish they can’t safely manoeuvre most of the villages and towns. Mine at 6.75m is quite long enough thank you, and that causes me a few issues on occasions. I believe I’m fortunate finding a design I’m happy to continue with, nearly 10 years now, making a few alterations just to fine tune it.

Ummmmmm.. 10 mtrs ? With a trailer that I occasionally use 14.5mtrs .. Have to use CONVOY EXCEPTIONAL boards when on the continent
I would not mind anything up to about 12 mtrs so a midi RV with slide outs.. like the Georgie Boy .315 or 2450 Landau.....But I have never gone that route because of the crap build quality and the poor gas miles

As a by the by, a £1m new RV, at 10 years old will sell for less than £100k
Mine when new was £97k and I reckon there has been about £6 spent on it since I have had it and turned in to a completely self contained mh.. The only time it ever gets plugged inis if we go away with others and they book a site with hook up in the site fees.. Happened once last year )

I agree, I will only use a EHU when we’re away if it happens to be a freebie, as I often find on a French aire. However, those are tending to disappear as the Aire system appears to be going down the ‘payable’ route. As I am fully self contained my only requirements while touring is a place to replenish the fresh water, and to empty the toilet cassette twice a week.

If you had that much money you probably own the hotels already.

Funny seeing Alan on the telly,, He is a member of motorhome fun and runs a business fixing motorhomes and supplying parts ( we bought our 32" 12v tv from him )
Oh, and that Concord he bought.. They really are a beautiful van.. I think there are 5 or 6 of them in the fun club

It did strike me that everyone talks telephone numbers when it comes to motorhomes, yet most of us are ordinary folk with no more where with all than the next person

On a slightly smaller & much less expensive scale I always wanted to build my own camper van so have looked at home build ones for years, what strikes me as really daft is most people take a reasonably efficient van or even ambulance that wont eat a gallon of a fuel per mile then fill it with a couple of tons of built in wood furniture then moan that it costs a bomb to run

FFS all it takes is a very quick look at how a caravan or normal bought motorhome is built to see that everything is as lightweight as possible

If you take out the patients first,
it becomes even lighter...Apparently? :risas3:

One of the members in my forum has just done his home build after selling his coachbuilt as it was too large just for him.
His answer to what to fit it out with was to buy an old caravan with good internals. Then he rebuilt the caravan into his Transit

Whole section on the subject here
The easiest and quickest way to do a self build is buy a cheapo caravan and puts the guts in to a LWB Ducato or similar :)

i worked on caravans for a short while & have mates that still do so could probably get all the bits I need dirt cheap, they save stuff from stripped vans to repair older ones

This is exactly the route I was going down but didn't know anyone had done it before (y)

Son in law has done 3 or 4 and Darrell has done a couple too. All done and sold for a BIG profit
