I remember tootling along in my Manta & seeing a mate in the distance in his 2L Capri going into a bend sideways & fully expected to get there & find him in a ditch but no he had kept hold of it

A couple of miles later I was behind him & followed through a series of reasonably fast bends, the bloody thing was all over the place  It later turned out he had seen me & was trying to get away, while wasn't even aware we were racing, I decided there & then I never wanted a Capri

Same as me... but I am at best an average welder !
I am a very good arc welder although out of practice now but only a reasonable mig welder, not having decent kit doesn't help

That's why I wanted one! Lol

My 2nd one had a limited slipped diff with 205 tyres so was quite planted in the corners, even when pushing it. It also had twin choke Webers so went sideways on command. Which was often. ;)

I used to carry a couple of bags of sand in the boot of my P reg. 1600 Capri. They came with the car & I never took them out. When I sold it, the bags of sand stayed in the boot for the next owner - who wrote it off within a month.

Used to have one of these in the front (boot) of the Hillman Imp. Father said "If you weren't going so fast..."
Then they took me off the insurance.

My Manta, Tiger & 131 would all go sideways with ease but only when I wanted them to and that's the difference the capri always did it when IT wanted ;)
