OLED TVs

Just been chatting to someone at a very large electrical retailer about an unrelated matter when we got onto the subject of OLED TVs. Apparently there is a massive storm brewing over screen burn - my LG lasted about two years before it became evident and I got a replacement - excellent service as ever from Richer Sounds.

Her advice was If you have an OLED tv for heavens sake don’t freeze the picture for any length of time and leave any graphics on display - the Sky ‘play/pause’ bar across the bottom of the screen per attached and bizarrely ‘Good Morning Britain’ frequently lead to screen burn .

Yes I had the same issue. Richer sounds replaced mine under their excellent warranty. I make sure I only switch it on to watch it now and never leave it on in the background. I believe the latest models have some tech built in to reduce the problem but it's still happening.

I never leave ours on pause and it’s one of the few things I’ve successfully trained Mrs P to do. I’m not due to change mine anytime soon but I’ll be going to Richer when I do.

In the meantime, I’ll try and train my wife to screw the tops back on jars and bottles.

I have totally trained mine to do exactly as she pleases so good luck with that
