OBAN McBASH Hotel

I know its very, very, VERY early, however a few of you have asked about deposits for rooms at the hotel.

I have just spoken to them and the Deposits are ?10 per person with the balance due the week before.

She also told me there is a deal on where if you pay the full amount at the time of the booking you will get 10% off but thats obviously non refundable.

They also just sent me their 2016 prices and these are the details:

A single is ?122 for the 3 days, we have 1 standard single, 2 with a sea view and 2 in the smoking section.

A twin/double is ?222.20 for the room for 3 days. We have 3 standard twins with baths instead of showers and 6 in the smoking section with showers.

A twin/double with sea view is ?248.60 for the room for the 3 days. We have 2 twins and a further 2 that can be used as a twin or double, all with showers

Those costs are for bed and breakfast with the use of the swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room

If you want to put your deposit down, just ask for Laura-Ann Sneddon (on 01631 562587) who has been sending me the details, if you mention the BLACKBIRD McBASH she will know its for us.

I don't think the prices are too bad for Oban, but unfortunately I am still not in a position to subsidise the McBASH next year, it may change and if it does I will let you know.

If you do get in touch with the hotel and put a deposit down, can you drop me a line so I know who is coming and I'll keep a list, like I do !

Hotel details are HERE, as well as parking at the front, there is a large concrete car park at the back of the hotel.

Hope thats ok for now, any comments, forget it !!

The same as Dinger. We'll be on the case in the next week or so.

So, is it 2 nights or 3 we need, as the bash is for 3 "days" mate ? I think We'll be staying for 2 nights (Friday & Saturday), then moving on to somewhere like Falkirk (To see the Falkkirk Wheel), followed by a couple of days in Edinburgh (sp)

Have I got it right for a change ?

Happy New year to all,

Rolfy & Jan

Hi Dave
The plan is to stay on the Friday night then on Saturday Morning its free to wander into Oban (10 minute walk, or do whatever you want) then in the afternoon a short Ride Our (up towards the North, Glencoe, etc) then the main ride out on the Sunday (about 150 miles). Most then plan to head off home (or wherever) on the Monday morning.
The costs for the hotel are based on 3 nights, sorry it was a bit misleading saying 3 days.
We have our room booked for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday and will bugger off home on the Monday after a good Scottish brekky !
But anyone can come for as long as they want, 2, 3 nights or more, is not a problem.

Thanks mate, we'll book for (hopefully) 3 nights. Hoping the seaview bedroom has a shower, and not a bath (as I cant get in & out these days). But we'll see how we get on. I cant book until after we have been pain on the 8th January, so, I'll have to take pot luck on room.

Thanks for your help,

Cheers mate,

Rolfy & Jan

ps... If anyone can recommend a good place (not too pricey) to stay around Falkirk, that would be great @tu*
