Hi peeps, new here, couldn't find an intro thread unless this is it, I have not long become the owner of a 98 carbed "Black" Bird, so far it has been a enjoyable ride but have discovered a few niggles which I will be asking about later, in another post.

I have no idea what cans they are, they look like standard cans, they came on it, they all look the same as far as I can tell! :dunno:

The link pipe section of the cans between the joint and the main can go from about 50mm to about 80mm. The 80mm bit is the cat, should only be on later injection models, the ones with digi clocks.
All carb and early injections, with analog clocks, should have 50mm link pipe sections the whole length to the can.
Not sure how it'll effect things running cats on a carb'd bike:dunno:

Thanks, they are a bit slimmer on the link/extension aren't they, as far as I know, I won't be able to tell the difference untill the correct cans are on but the bike doesn't seem to run rough with the cans that I have, maybe all it does is reduce emissions more than normal and change the exhaust tone? can anyone answer this?d34l
