Clueless in most things
If you go to the local saturday market, some towns still have them there is normally a sponge stall, failing that your local sewing shop will sell foam.

The way they cut the foam to get the best result is with an old electric carving knife it really does shape best this way

i'm no mechanic...just pick up spanners and learn as you go!

you make mistakes, but as long as you learn from them you'll build the stuff you want

Hope you don't mind, but that is now my desktop pic. Something gorgeous to look at when at work!!! (There will be days when the 'F*uck it I'm off home' Penguin will return though!!)

One day, when I have a garage to play in, I will learn and do something mad to a BBird :-0):-0)

Still looks bloody awesome :bow::bow::bow::bow:

bit of an update

dropped it off at the dyno place last weekend

got a call thismorning, he's run it up and fettled the carbs etc.

he needs some more jets (sewer pipe size) to do the final run, but at the moment its putting out ....
158 RW BHP with the Db killer.. and 160 BHP without.

its got a small rich spot low down that he says I won't notice, but the new jets will go some way to sorting it...rich spot aint there with the Db killer.
he says the engine is sweet as a nut...

so,...looking at the power figures on the front page of this website ,
164 crank (claimed) - 150 RW BHP (claimed) and 132.8 RW BHP (Measured on a 2000 Fi model)...
....i'm a little chuffed!

pick it up on Weds evening, complete with the new jets and everything sorted!

happyness!

ps,...instantly made more pwer with the K&N...standard airbox with open inlets,...the downpipes are Delkavic aftermarkets ( severely cut down with an angle grinder!) and the end can is a chopped down aftermarket race jobbie.

I'll post up the torque figure and scan the dyno run when I get it!;-0))

figures in the book are at the CRANK now take off around 12-14% and come into the real world. Back wheel H.P. even being generous 145-147 or have you magnesium pistons larger valve clearences, lightened crank & camshafts, honed & polished fuel inlets.
Honda told me My 600 was 100hp! now the real figers was 88.16bhp at the wheel. SO WHERE DID THE REST DISSAPEAR TOO ?:dunno:bl4hbl4hbl4hbl4hbl4hbl4h

1, i know...thats why i quoted the dyno'd RW figure thats noted on the front page of this site, and I posted a dyno figure which is from the rear wheel...maybe the video was a give away?

2, yes,...all of that. JE piston 1200cc piston and big bore kit, Tuned head ( look at the pics of the inlets in the first post in this thread)

3, So a handmade, big tube Spondon frame, with a Turbo'd Fireblade motor, ZX10r forks, Billet bespoke yokes ZX10r wheels and an Ohlins shock is gay....and you ride a 600cc Honda Hornet.....get a life

maybe if you had read the thread you may have spared yourself these embarrasing attempts at an insult

grow up twat
