Hmmmm that is going to be a mad bird when its completed!
With that seat angle and those brakes I would be fitting something soft to the rear of the tank

I'm not normally into cutting a perfectly good bike up and putting it back together again....
But that looks bloody fantastic!

Nice.

Brilliant job mate, just make sure they dont fall apart on you.

Rebuild a CB 900 F2 a few years back , nothing as drastic as what you doing, but still was good fun. Though saying that forgot to tighten the front calliper bolts, not good the first test run , no brakes

Good luck with finding work or maybe its a sign you should be doing this for a living ... ;)

Radiobloke, I like it
If you've seen anything different for a B-King front end let me know.
I've sorted the rear out, but would like to shape up the front a bit; there just isn't much around yet.

Perhaps not different but IMHO appropriate for reshaping the front

Keep up the good work radiobloke -it's coming along nicely now. I think I'll be going down that route once the latest outfit is finished.

bit of an update then...

this weekends progress...

well...the few hours I had on it

bled the front brakes
bled the b4stard rear...fricking thing took ages...ended up bleeding the cable without the caliper on the end...that got the bugger!

made the oil cooler mount...then made it again....still shite. will have to make V3 next week.

need to make a little chain guard thing...cos the rearsets are damn close to the chain.tried designing something...but it looked naff...work in progress!

took the seat to peices and cut it up...getting there...will need to trim the seat foam down cos at the moment it drops away in the wrong place. should work out ok.

wanted to get more done this weekend...but got obliterated on Saturday night...head still mings!

That's the nicest/nastiest looking bike I've seen in ages. I've got loads of pics of similar beasts that I tokk at Assen for the last few years. If you don't mind your thread taking a little detour I'll sling them up. They'll make you cry...

Frogot to mention with your airbox intakes sitting out in the wind like that you may have fueling problems if its carb'd I'd suggest piping the diaphrams into the air box to equalise the pressures top and bottom d34l

I'll get it up n running then sort the fuelling from there..

bit of an update...

I had an hour & half in the garage....so I made some mounts for the electrics

angle grinder and sheet steel....went for it.

one plate for the Reg/Rec heat sink.....and one for the CDi unit and Alarm ( cos I can't work out how to rip the alarm out!!)

I haven't fixed the alarm and CDi yet...or the wiring...but at least I have somewhere to mount them now!

I know its not straight...but it can all be hidden behind the seat later...but thats one more job of the list !

quocunque jeceris stabit
Tis the old style reg rect, might pay to get a new one of Jaws, with the heatsink fins on, tis a weak spot on the Bird.

Carb models usually give reg/rect trouble, injection alternator trouble.

Funny thing is my Inj model runs fine with a low output carb alternator.

Glad to see you're still progressing.

Ohhh you don't want smoke coming from there!
Is Jaws a member or something?
well you could say that (or anything else at present since he is on his hols :-0)) .............. but since he Mods the forum I'm saying nothing! In reality he almost certainly knows more about Birds than anybody else in the UK since he has worked on them for 10+ years!
http://www.jaws-motorcycles.co.uk/

As for links, there are too many to list (I know I started yet another one when my first alternator died a death!) I know Jaws did a 'problem' diagnosis write up recently............ but I can't find it and didn't think of book marking it since I know the problems and tests off by heart!

Nice progress by the way, is that a Blade rear light, I can't recognise it from strange angles!
