Funny you should say that, but I did.

I was talking to a mate last week and he was mining for bogies while we spoke.
After watching his performance for a minute or so I said, "have you lost something up there.?"
He stopped, looked at his finger and lowered it. The look on his face said, "oh shit, why am I doing that..?"

He was completely oblivious to the fact that he'd started doing it.

Because you are not grabbing their elbow and moving it wards with as much force as you can muster

If someone does that in my presence, I usually warn them that they want to stop it before their head caves in.

Sat in the tea room at work, a colleague & well known nose picker was sat there with his index finger up his hooter on a bogey hunt, I picked up the salt & pepper & offered them to him, he asked what they were for, I just told him his bogeys might taste better with a bit of seasoning.
