Did these have a spare wheel at the front of the engine??
Very tidy radio.
Not.. at least not as standard.
Did a nut and bolt refurb on one in the mid 70's
Vividly remember my dad coming home for lunch while on 9 to 5 on one of those!!
My dad's didn't have radio, but did have a nice big screen.
When I got a Honda C50 stepthru years latter he said it was twice as fast as the LC200.
The plod LE's were made the same as the plod Triumph Saints, in a very soft state of tune. Quite low compression and soft ( low profile ) cams.
That is why they could go very slow in a high gear without snatching when used for parades and escort duty
This is more like the ones my dad had.
The one my dad used was very much like the one in the first picture in my memory, other than it had an even more massive radio on the back with what seemed like a ten foot aerial at the time, probably nearer three feet in reality.. I recall that some wag tied one of the 'tiger's tails' that Esso were giving away at the time to the top of the aerial and it remained there for some time.
