w;;v Guys I've just moved to the Fareham area from Gloucestershire.......and having been a member of the IAM group (awaits taunts and abuse) man8um was looking for some guidance as to which of the local groups were the most active to join up with.........IAM, RoSPA etc............or is there an active BB group around here?
 Cheers for any (useful) input .

The serious answer first..
Contact Bob Pinder ( do a search on here for the name )

I am sure he will be able to help you with contacts..

And the other answer...

Now I do not know you and have never seen you ride, but................

Throw away all the bloody reflective stuff you wear.

Honest Foggy, there is a direct correlation between the amount of reflective material a rider wears and how good a rider they THINK they are. :k LOL !!

i think Lumpy has a list of his local IAM groups and helps Lord Pinder with his advanced training

Thanks for BOTH of your answers, the first one being the most useful (obviously) - as for the second, I tend NOT to wear reflective clothing as such - only if the weather conditions lend themselves to making myself more obvious to the lunatic (read BLIND) cage driving fraternity we have in this country!! As my son described my leathers as loking like a "power ranger" I guess I fit in somewhere here...........Cheers anyway.

Nowt wrong with the IAM. I used to be a senior observer with em till I got fed up with the bollockings for teaching a bit of knee down

And as for living in Fareham, ya bastid. Not far from a decent free slipway (Haslar) down at Gosport and straight out on to the Solent

Martin, its all well and good having access to a free slipway..............but what good is that to me nd my BB????? (unless I'm missing some of the more advanced features of an already superb bit of kit) :dunno:

Lumpy /Mac

your comments on SAM - Solent Advanced Motorists - seem to be accurate if their web page is anything to go by, I tried to read it but kept falling asleep..........though they do boast a "full" social calender - FOR THE SUMMER MONTHS
as soon as my job settles down I'll give you a shout and meet up. Other than Poole Quyside are there any other regular bike meets in the area.......???

p.s According to a lot of the other posts I've read, I ride one of the slow Black ones.........I think its the only way to go personally!!!
