Greetings all, new owner on the block. I collect my Bird on Saturday next, and I'm like a child in Christmas week. A 98 reg in Blue, but a continental import, so it has the FI and all the other bits of a 99 bike.

Have been riding a VTR1000 Firestorm for nearly 3 years now, and time for a change. Took me a week from deciding that I wanted a change to making the choice and the purchase. Wow, what a machine. In comparison to the Storm, the Bird is "effortless". Smooth and refined, as it should be.

Oh, and the usual newbie tech questions will start soon, so prepare yourselves for the barrage of oil / tyre / CCT / PC questions! I assume the best place to post a message like that is in the Help section.

Later.

Welcome to the madhouse.

Ignore Derek Kelly. I work with him, so that's not an option for me :loo:

Rhino's OK. I've met him and he's really just misunderstood

Everyone else is just plain daft. :h

And as for me...... you'll have to ask someone else as I haven't a clue.

On a more serious note why not become a sponsor? Where else can you get all this abuse, p!ss taking and personal banter for 15 quid, not to mention all the free advice from our resident experts.

Hey, looks like you're all fuggin daft. I'll fit right in!!!

Yeah, rode the Storm for three years non stop, might explain why I'm looking for a more comfortable bike!

Talk to me about this sponsorship lark, what are the benefits? (Real benefits now guys, abuse is a given, I'm talking about benefits!)

Nuffin wrong with my taste in music either!

STIG.............

real benefits of sponsorship are.........

you can personal message peeps, meaning if it's a private matter etc....you don't have to post it for all to see.

you can post piccy's on this 'ere fine site....your bike, your wife's favourite undies  (only jesting)pretty much anything so long as it's clean

also contribute to the upkeep of this mighty fine site.

members discount's.

there may be other privelages, and i'm sure someone will tell you if there are....but they've escaped me for a mo c7u8

Sponshorship

As Stan says Piccies and Private Messages (PMs) are the main points.

I am happy to stump up the 15 quid so I don't feel embarassed about getting the free advice. After all, you can't really walk into your local dealer and ask how to fix your bike and then walk out again can you?
