¡Ahora, vete y disfruta :pags! [/ QUOTE]

Hello all, was pointed in this direction by a review article and signed up. I'm hopefully picking up a 2007 Blackbird next week, having to wait because I need a complete day to do it, the train journey is over four hours long to get it. I'm going to give myself a challenge to get back home in less time it takes to get there by train including one or two comfort stops, or maybe no stops at all if the tank lasts (150 miles) and I'm enjoying myself too much. I haven't ridden in seven years, and have only had experience with 600's as "big bikes" (A ZZR 600 and a Thundercat) that I rode without incident for years and years commuting an hour and a half every day and having fun at the weekends so I'm looking forward to swinging a leg over the Blackbird and taking it easy at first. How long that will last though I have no idea, at the moment I have a clean license but from everything I read I will have to make an effort to keep it that way... anyway just wanted to say hello :beer-toast1:

You'll find the Bird is a bit like an over weight Thundercat, until you wind her up (fun starts from about 5000).... then it turns into stretched arms and eyeballs time.
Easy to ride slow, easy to ride fast.
Note the linked brakes though, they're a wee bit different from what you're used to..!

Welcome, and commiserations.

I too did the long train journey and ride home (220 miles) when collecting my second Bird. The ride home was a nightmare, engine misfiring (K& N air filter:rolleyes:), wandered all over the road (no oil in one front fork and low tyre pressures despite asking the seller to make sure they were 42psi and being assured that they were) and it chucked down in biblical proportions for half the journey.

Enjoy.:D.

If I may be so bold, consider sponsoring the site...for the price of a cup of coffee (remember when you could buy those?) you will, access, all, the technical help you will ever need.

More imformation here....

Welcome from the sunny west of I.

Ignore Beaker. He's misnamed, he's really Waldorf - just plain grumpy.

Hello all, just rejoined after several years away (pre-server issues I believe), I still have the same Bird after 9 years ( the bike that is..) and whilst the outer skin still looks great there is corrosion and wear showing underneath, so as she is 14 years old now (the bike that is) but with only 25k on the clock, my winter project is to strip and refurbish from the front going backwards so I look forward to much banter, frivolity and sound advice over the coming months - thanks for letting me return....
