Greetings.Hi all. Had my bird for 4 years now wasn't looking for a Blackbird when I bought her.....but so glad I did!. Joining group to get help and advice when needed and maybe a couple of meetings you never know. Look forward to hearing from you all
Just found you had the BB just over year now look forward to meet other riders.Hi and welcome to the BIRD forum.. this is the forum for members of B.I.R.D ., the uk based international Blackbird owners club.
If you do not own a Bird ( or indeed do not even want to own one ! ) that should not stop you joining in the fun.,.
Whilst a lot of the stuff is Bird related we have many members who do not own an XX but some other ( LESSER ) type of bike.
But all are welcome as we are a sociable bunch ..
I would suggest you take your time to browse for a while..
You will see there is much urine extracting..
This is not meant in a nasty way.. so be prepaired for a certain about of abuse and banter !
Do not 'cop the hump' .. if you feel abuse or whatever is out of order, simply inform admin and let one of us sort it out..
There is not a lot to be gained by getting all hot and bothered over what could well be a genuine misreading of the situation. !!
As an aside, please remember this is primarily a bikers forum, and some content will not be for the feint hearted.. We have three strict rules
The rules of the forum are only three fold:
No one can post anything wishing someone has an accident
You cannot post shite on a thread in the help section until a useful answer has been given
You cannot use the C word in any posts
Now, off you go and enjoy !
Welcome to the 'Nuthouse'Hi all. Had my bird for 4 years now wasn't looking for a Blackbird when I bought her.....but so glad I did!. Joining group to get help and advice when needed and maybe a couple of meetings you never know. Look forward to hearing from you all
OK, new to the forum so play nice I'm sensitive!!Welcome to the forum ! Enjoy !!
Please read the following info.. It is worth the effort
About three years ago our then server host ( who let us use their server for free ) screwed things up so badly BIRD was down for 5 months !
On top of that their admin kept messing with our forum and generally poking their nose in.
I contacted what members I could and between us ( them ! LOL ! ) it was decided a new
independent server and forum software was needed. I bit the bullet , paid for a server and software licence.
At the time I was still working, but when I retired a load of the members said it was unfair I should cough the lot every year and it was suggested we use a ‘sponsor’ system.
I worked out if we got enough members £5.50 a year should cover the cost..
It hasn’t quite as yet but we are close..
A lot of history really, but it is why only some sections of BIRD are open to all, and you have to become a full member to get the lot.
As someone said, at £5.50 a year it is about the price of a couple of coffees and it is pretty clear no one is gonna make any dosh out of it all
As said, some sections ( inc the tech section) is only available to sponsors
I do hope you understand, and hope you sign up to the bloody lunacy that is BIRD and help keep the lights on !
Want a sweetie, little boy?OK, new to the forum so play nice I'm sensitive!!
Wanted a Blackbird for sometime and finally got the opportunity a couple of weeks ago. So now I'm the proud owner of a 2001 blue Blackbird, which I hope will be taking me to Le Mans next year for the MotoGp.
I've taken the option of the sponsorship as I think I'll be using the tech help a bit as I want to change a few things to my liking.
The Blackbird is going to be my everyday bike, I have a CB900F with GSXR750 running gear in build and a ZXR750 h1 for fun days out!
Looking forward to being an active member of the forum.
As you've probably guessed I wasn't being truthful about being sensitive I can give and take it (but not like that you understand )
