The bike spends way to much time at or above 100mph, which is why I ride alone. The clean XX has a C.O.D of 0.0155 and for those that have had their XX in excess of 150 (241kph) for a long stretch you know how smooth it is. Adding anything to create drag would simply take away from this and I don't need the hassles.

At that sort of speed it's not so much the drag of the top box slowing things down but more the beading strip around the screen that tends to break free and form a tail that whips faster than Miss Whiplashes whip on speed! The scars are on the lid and I now need a new visor!

I haven't a clue what this means so let me try and respond as best I can based on the language barrier. That top case would collect enough air to change the sleds stability thus increasing the pucker factor and as far as the lid (helmet?) is concerned it's below the windscreen so frontal force is not a factor at all.

Let me speeky in plane Inglish foor you...

The top box (case) is not really relevant to holding the bike back but it was more the fact that whenI last rode at more than one hundred and fifty miles an hour the trim surrounding the front screen lifted away ( must be due to the wind pressure on the screen or something) and blew widely and dangerously in the turbulence and to such a degree that it hit my helmet and visor causing them to become damaged. A new visor is needed as a result.

You understandy now?

Which particular Kelli's Bar and Grille do you refer to? The last time I went to one of that name I saw no sign of fish but moved along when the bears started asking me if was up for some fun!

Anytime you want to ride up and visit your Northern brothers, let us know. I know a few high milage roads, and they even have a few curves in them. I'll leave my luggage on.

Maybe things have changed a bit but the only road worth running heads east to Hope on the way to Oliver and the RCMP has that flagged like crazy. Now, you want a road worth running get yourself a passport and head to Eli Nevada. Head south out of Eli to Hiko on SR318. This is the same road they shut down for the Silver State Classic Challenge. The running distance is 90 statute miles and the longest straight is 15 miles but don't get settled in because the off camber turn at the end of it is marked 45 but again it's off camber meaning the banking is backwards. You'll enjoy the narrows running through the mountains at 6,500ft too. It's a bit windy so if you really want to run you'll likely want to dump those butt ugly boxes to avoid being thrown around....

Is that a Yanks idea of a twisty road, one 45 degree bend at the end of a 15mile straight ??? :-0)

I ride in Wash, Oregon and N California. I've ridden over Bear Tooth Pass with these panniers. I didn't put 200 kms on by bike by riding to the local Starbucks or Sunday afternoon cruses with the local Harley boys. I know my provincial roads and then some.

Excuse me, Mr badbird, but you never answered when I asked if you wanted a sweetie.

Oh, transatlantic translation:

As to recording the sound. I tried that once with a C phone and it was 6 feet away and still over modulated the phone. Oh you could hear it as sick as the new cams sound but the recording was horrible. As to the addition of anything that would create drag such as side bags or a top case their is no chance. The bike is flawless and I love it for what it is, the Orient Express. If I want to tour, I've got the Harley....lol

Is a 'C' phone an earlier incarnation of that hopeless piece of Apple shit we get over here beloved of gays and technological simpletons?
