Well, what do you think..?

It was always going to be a tough act to follow, but as expected LR have gone down the route of hi-tech Chelsea tractor. Not surprising really I suppose, but I think they've shot themselves in the foot.

I spent far too much time operating from and living out of Series III's and later 110's, so I've got a soft spot for the utilitarian aspects of Landies and I suspect owners of older Defenders will be the same.
They're not going to be too impressed with this new one, which is anything but a true utility vehicle.

It looks a bit freelanderish & as the freelander was once voted most unreliable car on the market, not good.

Given LR's lack of reliability and the serious technology in these, I think you're right.

Freelander are driven by hairdressers and homosexuals thus the nickname Gaylander.

P.S. They're not really Landrovers as they don't have a ladder chassis.

Negligible load carrying capability and I bet there is not a proper petrol engine in the range.

Slow as a glacier.

Less comfortable than a glacier.

Less good looking than a glacier.

Overall it is as useless and pointless as every other four wheel drive Chelsea tractor on the road. Or, more accurately, parked on the pavement and/or double yellows outside schools.

They will sell by the bucket load. The name alone will do it for many people

Why do you have to hijack every thread and make it about BMW's? :nono:

Pointless ponce mobile that will never go off road & probably break down mounting a Chelsea kerb, give me a series III or a proper early defender any day of the week

The whole point of a Landy is it's an indestructible go anywhere vehicle that can take loads of abuse and if it breaks can be bodged together. That reputation is why they are the go to vehicle for film and tv. Can't see Lara Croft parachuting into the jungle in one of these nor the Tracys rocking up in one in Daktari either.
This one is just another overpriced pretentious pile of junk cynically designed to play on brand loyalty.
