Remember this post about new temporary speed scamera's on the M4 roadworks between the Bath and Bristol junctions??

http://www.bikersoracle.com/blackbird/forum/showthread.php?t=18383

Well they have already raised ?1.2m...... in just two months. 20,000 tickets have been issued in that time, according to Sky News.

According to the same report, the latest figures available for fixed penalty tickets issued by speed scamera's are those for 2003....... and in that 12 month period they raised a staggering ?96m

Err..... apart from the bit that goes to buy new scamera's, where does this money go??

Straight to the treasury coffers mate.....

Not a penny goes to public transport of improving the road infrastructure
It is merely one more tax the govt has imposed on us.

This govt is by far the least transparant we have EVER had..
The whole lot are as bent as a nine pound note..

And the arseholes got voted back in again.. How ?? Why ???

That's a very good question John. It is also what a lot of Aussies and Yanks are asking as well. The Blair/Bush/Howard thing is a mystery to me. :bang:

Not that I condone it

but I hear of more and more folk using dodgy plates in order to avoid cameras. A mate who has his plate velcroed on (for quick removal at track days of course ) got pulled the other day as the plate had somehow unbeknown to him "fallen" off? Result - producer, ?30 fine & nil points - bit cheaper than a ?60 NIP :dunno:

I'm sure I mentioned this before, but a guy I knew had a car-door solenoid to push his plate on a hinge. The trigger was next to his indicators. Bloody fantastic idea!
